The FWOH will act as an agent for sale of objects. All Pieces must be displayed with prices, and a price list should be made available to the WOH at the time of installation.
An artist statement and biography of an Exhibiting Artist may also be on display, along with contact information, during the show. Thirty percent (30%) of the price of any sales will go to the OCAA and FWOH, to be split evenly between the two organizations.
The artwork to be displayed are not owned by the OCAA or the FWOH and neither will act as custodian of property belonging to others. The FWOH has no responsibility for care of the Pieces and the OCAA and the FWOH will be held harmless by the Exhibiting
Artist(s) in the event of damage or loss. The Exhibiting Artist(s) assume all responsibility for damage to and/or loss of art objects on display.
The following conditions shall apply:
Advertising-The Exhibiting Artist(s), OCAA and FWOH will cooperate in advertising. A portion of the costs will be shared among OCAA, FWOH and the artist(s) and must be pre-approved by the OCAA and the FWOH prior to any display or distribution.
Marketing guidelines for the WOH can be found on the Wright’s website under “rent the Wright.”
Mounting of the Exhibit in the WOH- Any Pieces that do not meet with the approval of OCAA or FWOH must be removed by the Exhibiting Artist(s) and may be replaced by approved substitutes.
The Exhibit should consist of approximately 10-20 pieces. All art must be hangable with wire hangers. Wire ends must be wrapped in order to prevent damage to wallpaper. No 3D Pieces can be accommodated. Artwork must be hung and not displayed on easels.
Prints from original art are acceptable, as long as they are identified as such.
The Operations Manager for the WOH is responsible for scheduling exhibit dates with the artist(s). Exhibits will remain on display for a specified, limited period of time (approximately 8 weeks), and must be removed at the end of that period.
Members of the OCAA and the FWOH will be present to assist the installation of the artwork. Only materials provided by the FWOH will be used in installing the exhibit. No adhesives of any kind are allowed, and no additional holes are to be made in the WOH
Neither the mounting of the exhibit, nor the removal of the exhibit, nor the exhibit itself may disrupt the WOH regular programs or operations, or cause damage to the WOH property or building finishes.
Exhibits will be installed at an agreed upon date and time prior to the opening of the show. WOH will open an hour prior to the reception to allow for any additional preparation by the artist(s).
Opening Reception Each Exhibiting Artist or a representative must be present at the Opening Reception.
One or more OCAA and/or FWOH members will attend the Opening Reception and will be available to answer questions about the Art at the Wright program. The Opening Reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. (unless another agreed upon time works better for
all involved), on the day of the Exhibit opening. Members of the OCAA and the FWOH, and the Exhibiting Artist(s) will provide refreshments. During the time of the Opening Reception, the Exhibiting Artists(s) will be introduced and asked to speak briefly about their work.
OCAA and FWOH may postpone or cancel the Exhibit or Opening Reception at its discretion.
The Art at the Wright program is carried out under the auspices of the Ouray County Arts Association and the Friends of the Wright Opera House Boards of Directors; these two Boards have final authority over all matters relating to the program.
I have read, understand, and agree to all of the above conditions.
