The varied and amazing landscapes of the mountain west are the subject of Don Paulson’s upcoming photography exhibit at the Wright Opera House in Ouray. Don is a lifelong photographer who resides in Ouray County and is curator of the Ouray County Historical Society Museum. He has studied landscape photography with John Fielder and has won several awards for his work at the annual Artists’ Alpine Holiday art show. His cameras of choice are a
Nikon D70s SLR, or a Nikon D5200 with a Sigma DC 18-200mm lens. Don is also known for authoring and co-authoring three Southwest Colorado history books, Narrow Gauge Railroading in the San Juan Triangle, Mines, Miners and Much More, and, Peaks of the Uncompahgre. A former Chemistry Professor at California State University, Los Angeles, Don now enjoys model railroading, hiking, and jeeping in the San Juan Mountains.
Don’s photography exhibit: Landscapes of the Mountain West, will be on display at the Wright Opera House, 472 Main Street, Ouray, CO, from July 28 until September 15.
